I had a blissful offline weekend camping in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with a large group of friends recently. Judging by the number of books (not ereading devices) and amount of reading people (of all ages) were doing sitting around the campfire, stretched out in tents, perched on sunny rocks, lounging in hammocks or just relaxing on a convenient tailgate, reading certainly isn’t dead. Popular books among our group were Master & Margarita, Midnight’s Children (a bookclub pick), the Warriors series, the Rainbow Magic series, and Grace Lin’s Where the Mountain Meets the Moon.

I need more weekends spent with good friends and away from electronic distractions.
